For this Pleasant Ridge bungalow, we replaced a traditional grass lawn with a vibrant, low-maintenance yarrow lawn. The transformation began with the careful removal of existing turf, followed by soil preparation to create ideal growing conditions for western yarrow (Achillea millefolium)—a drought-tolerant native plant prized for its soft green foliage and delicate white flowers. Over time, the yarrow has matured into a lush, uniform ground cover, offering the homeowner a sustainable, water-efficient alternative to grass.
