Colorful Cottage Garden with Native Perennials

This was a complete garden makeover for a cozy cottage in Oak Park. This charming yard now features a vibrant mix of native perennials, including coneflowers, coreopsis, and black-eyed Susans, offering seasonal color and pollinator-friendly blooms. In the backyard we installed a natural, arborvitae hedge which will add greenery and privacy as it matures in the coming years. Along the shady portion of the driveway are a variety of native ground covers such as wild petunia, contrasted by a fragrant row of Russian sage leading to the side door of the house. Framed by a classic brick home, the garden beds are thoughtfully arranged to complement the architecture while enhancing curb appeal. The lush greenery and layered textures create a welcoming and low-maintenance landscape that blends beauty with eco-conscious design.
